Scope of work:
Bill of Entry is filed with Pakistan custom after which the cargo takes 2-3 days for customs clearance. The cargo if containerized is handed over to NLC (National Logistics Cell) or to Pakistan Railways from Karachi to Peshawer. From Karachi to Peshawer with the lead time being 3-4 days. On arrival at Peshawer the consignment is again subject to customs clearance by Pakistani Authorities after which the consignment is destuffed from the container and the goods transferred to other trucks in loose form.
Empty containers are taken back to the shipping line’s designated terminals as the goods.
The consignment in transfer trucks are again subject to inspection at Torkhum Border and cross the border area into the Afghan territory.
Consignment is further filed with Afghan Customs for further clearance and payment of duty and taxies where the goods are classified and duties/taxies levied with respect to the Afghan Customs tariff upon which the goods are delivered to the Consignee. The time required from Border to Afghan Custom is 3-4 days and final clearance depends on the completion of documents and other Afghan Custom outlays.
